Changes....

Changes, changes everywhere!

There are changes in the season right now.
There are changes at school.
There are changes going on for Dudley and I right now.
There are changes going on in my family.

Most of the changes are things for the better, but with the good there usually comes some bad, and I must say there is some bad changes here right now.

I honestly believe the only thing getting me through all these changes, good or bad, is my faith in God and knowing there is nothing He would throw my way that He doesn't think I can handle. I know that in Him all things are possible! He is in every change there is and will ever be and because of that I have joy in all things going on in life!

Happenings...

I started off doing a pretty good job of blogging more often and then we got back into the swing of school and I slacked off. Oops!

Since my last post, I got scared pretty good one more when I went out to my car to go to work and there was evidence someone had been in my car. Now, I had taken anything of value out because a when it first got really cold I could not get my car to unlock at work and my dad had to save me. So, we decided that until it got warm again I would have to leave it unlocked : / Well, back to when I went out to my car, I walked out, opened my door and everything from my doors, glove box, and consol were in my front seat, and a few other things were misplace. Luckily nothing was missing and my car was okay, but it really shook me up! It got Dudley and I thinking about some next steps in our lives.

Since my last post, Dudley and I got free tickets to see Jimmy Fallon while he was here in Indy for the Super Bowl. Well, we got there to wait in line for our tickets knowing there was a chance of not making it because they told us they over booked. Little did we know, they REALLY over booked. We didn't make it in, but we did get a free T-shirt out of it. LOL. We had fun looking at all of the Super Bowl excitement and we were glad to get to experience it all!

Since my last post my sister and nephews have come to visit! I LOVE when I get to see their family. It warms my heart every time I hear Teagan say "Aunt Lala, you want to play with me?" and every time I see Eli's smiling little face. I can't wait to see what God has in store for those two because I knew they are going to do amazing things!

Finally, since my last post we are now getting ready to head to Atlanta on Thursday evening to see Dudley's parents and his friends. We are both excited to get to go down there and spend some time with everyone!

Hopefully, it won't be too much longer before my next post. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Brr...

Boy is it cold out there! We are finally getting the feeling of winter out there. I do love snow but I don't love everything it brings with it! Like today for instance, I was leaving school to head home and what happens. I slip on ice and fall right on my side. Then, my key won't unlock my door. It turns and turns but nothing. It has stuck before and after a few jiggles it unlocked. Not today :( I stood there freezing and trying, but nothing. So luckily I am blessed to live close to my parents and I was able to call my dad for help. He was able to come right over and he got it to open up!

So, the moral of the story is, I am one blessed girl to be able to live close enough to my parents that when Dudley is working and I can't get a hold of them I have someone to call on for help!

I know you are reading this, Dad, so thank you again for your help! I love you!

Oops

Well, I missed a day yesterday due to the fact that our computer is old and didn't want to work...boo! I thought having the internet was going to make things easier. ha...story of my life.

School is back in full swing and so far (keeping my fingers crossed) things are going well. I have already in these two days seen some improvements in a couple of my kiddos! I really think we all needed a break to recoup and have time away from each other! I am looking forward to see where this semester leads!

Where Has Time Gone???

Here we are January 3, 2012. I can't believe that it is half-way through my first year of teaching Kindergarten. I never thought I would be in my own classroom teaching my own set of students. I have known I always wanted to work with children, especially kindergartners, but after many setbacks I haven't always been sure when or if that was going to happen.

Now that it is the beginning of the second semester, my love for working with kids just keeps growing. I am not sure I will forever be working in the school system, but I am sure that I will always be working with kids in one way or another!

As I think about starting back to school tomorrow, I know that my students have come a long way since the first day of school, but i also know we have a lot to do to make sure they are ready for first grade! I can't wait to see where this next semester takes us. I know we are all going to continue to grow together as we finish out this year!

New Year, New Things

Now that we have Internet at home, I had planned on starting this blog back up yesterday but it seemed like sleep took over :)

I am looking forward to all the things that lie ahead in 2012. I know that God has big things in store for Dudley and I in the coming year. I am anxious to see what those things are, but I know that patience is the only way I will get to those things!

Here's to praying, listening and letting God take complete control of the road ahead!

Here we go....

Well, the 2011-2012 School year has began, and let me tell you, it has been quite a journey so far. Let me start at the beginning....

A week before school is to start and we still aren't able to get in the building. Finally on August 3 I was able to get in my room. It was one of the hottest days we had this summer. Dudley and I get my mom and dads van loaded up with all the stuff I have been keeping in our apartment. We get up to the school only to find out there is no electricity which means there is no AC and we can't really do anything in my room still. Here are pictures of what we saw:
That is all my stuff that was left in my room piled up in the corner.

So, all Dudley and I got to do that day was put paper up on my bulletin boards and that in itself was a task. We had to get the paper out of the closet using the light on Dudley's phone as a flashlight, and hang it while we sweated in 90+ heat.

We finally really got to start working on Friday and I worked for the next week straight with the help of my mom, cousin Susan, and more! I couldn't have done it without them. I didn't get my tables or chairs until the Tuesday and Wednesday before school started on Thursday.
Here is what my room turned out to look like (I must say, I am quite pleased):
