Been way to long....

I know, I know....it has been an extremely long time since my last post. Let me fill you in.

Since my last post I have.....
- gotten married to my best friend
-went on our honeymoon for a week to Montego Bay, Jamaica
-had a wedding reception in Georgia for Dudley's home church to attend
-started back to work as a prime-time aide for Kindergarten classes
-went through my father-in-law going through a very scary heart attack but coming through amazingly. Praise the Lord! We KNOW it was all His doing!
-spent time with lots of friends and family and have gotten closer with new friends
-and most recently got to spend the weekend with friends before they have their first child.

There has been a lot going on, I promise to try to update more often. It may be hard though because I don't have the Internet at home.

Last week at home....

This is my last week at home and I have to admit, it is kind of bittersweet. I am so excited to be marrying Dudley. I am looking forward to the road God is going to lead us on as we begin our lives together.

With that being said, I am going to miss being at home and around my parents. I have always been one who wants my parents around for everything they can be. Sure I know there were times when I didn't feel this way, but overall it has been my thinking. I have never been embarrassed to have my parents on school trips, or to have them at camp with me. In fact, I have loved having them there! I am very much a mom and a daddy's girl. Maybe it is because I am the baby of the family I don't know. I just know it will be quite an adjustment for me.

Another thing that is on my mind, and was reaffirmed this morning, is how much I will miss not having Mamaw (Grandma Reedy) here this weekend.

This morning in my daily prayer thing from church it said to pray for someone who touched your life. I couldn't pick for just one. I'll admit I didn't pray for everyone that did, but I couldn't narrow it down to one. I had to start at the beginning with my grandparents, especially Mamaw and Grandpa Petersen. I have been blessed to have some of the most Godly examples of grandparents any one could ask for. Mamaw was so involved in working with children and youth, and Grandpa is one of the most Biblical knowledgeable men I know.

My thanks didn't end there (how could it) I am blessed to have two of the most amazing parents! If it weren't for them, not only would I not exist, but I wouldn't be who I am today. I can only hope that Dudley and I can live up their example of a Godly marriage.

Finally, I couldn't finish my thanksgiving without mentioning my siblings. Like any sibling relationship, we had our share of ups and downs, but I wouldn't trade Adam and Renee' for anything. I love looking back and seeing how far we have come from when we were little. I love them both so much and cherish the memories we have (like playing cards on the floor, "Come home, come home, all little cards come home... :) ) and all the memories to come.

I know this blog was long and changed from subject to subject but it is what is on my heart and mind today.

Whew....

Less than a month till the wedding and there is a lot going on. I am currently teaching a class of 16 kids who will be in Kindergarten in the fall. It is a Kindergarten Camp to help get them prepared for the year ahead. It started last Friday and goes until June 11, 9-12p.m. every day. Yeah, it is only for three hours a day but we have quite a bit we have to get in in those 3 hours.

In addition to that, I am trying to get as much of my stuff as I can packed up and moved to our apartment so it will feel as much like home when we get back from the honeymoon as it can. It is going pretty well so far, but you really never realize how much stuff you have till it comes to a time like this.

Oh, and lets not forget the most important thing going on....finishing up last minute details for the wedding :) Things are going well just a few more things to finalize.

2 months?!?!

It is April 26 and the wedding is two months from today. I can't believe in just two months I will be married to Dudley. It seems like just yesterday we were just beginning to date! God has surely brought us a long way in 3 years. We have had our ups and our downs, but over all God has lead the way through this relationship!

Well, besides being 2 months away from the wedding, today would have been my Grandma Reedy's birthday. It is during times like this that I really miss her. She wasn't able to physically see me graduate high school, college, and she won't be there to see me get married. However, I know she is watching over me and would be so proud of how far I have come and where I am in my life today. I will always miss, but I know she loves me and always will!

Been a long time....

Okay, so it has been MONTHS since I have last updated, but I have good reason for not keeping up. The main reason is because i was without my computer for a good month or so. It stopped working on me so when sister and nephew came for a visit in February I sent it home with her for her husband to check out. He is wonderful and fixed it for me, and I got it back from them when my mom and I went for a visit over our Spring Break. Besides that, we have been busy planning mine and Dudley's wedding :)

Things are going really well. It is a little over 2 months and pretty much everything is done. We have some assembling to do for the table decor but other than that everything is coming along smoothly. In no time June 26 will be here and I will be Mrs. Dudley! Eek!

I'M ENGAGED!!!

Dudley and I got engaged tonight! It was a wonderful night. Here is how it began....

On Wednesday Dudley gave me this:

So we went and saw Leap Year (which was amazing by the way and I will own it when it comes out on DVD) and then we went to Chili's.

Dudley said the whole time he was trying to figure out how he was going to do it. He said he thought about doing it outside but he didn't want to make me freeze.

So, we ended up going to Barnes and Noble and getting coffee. We then preceded to the children's book section to look around. Little did I know that Dudley was going to propose :)

Needless to say, I said yes, and haven't stopped smiling since!!

I'm just a little late with this blog.

We had family Christmas on New Year's Eve at Renee' and Ryan's and it was wonderful. Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. Not because we get presents, but because it is one time in the year that I am guaranteed to have all my family in one place. We are always having a good time and joking around with each other, giving each other gifts is just a bonus. Teagan being a part of our Christmas this year was a wonderful add-on. He was so fun to watch! Here are pictures of our Christmas Day.

Teagan waiting for everyone to get up so we can open presents

Now that their is a grandchild...us kids don't have to have our picture in front of the tree. He is way cuter anyway :)

Opening his gift from me. I got him a cute onesie set, jeans, and some awesome shoes. And I got him....

This shirt :) I was going to wait till his birthday to give it to him, but I couldn't wait any longer.

Teagan and I ready to bring in the New Year!

I would have more pictures but my battery died and so this was the end of what I got. I hope every one's year is starting out right! May God bless you in many ways this coming year!
